A) parking lot downtown near Santa Cruz needs repaving.
B) sunset campus redevelopment is very problematic.
Recall 9/11/2001 when two airliners intentionally crashed into the NY World Trade Center. My father was the structural engineer on that project.
This project doesn’t belong here. Its uninsurable. Right on the creek. Palo Alto has an interest in the risks. It is a target for hijackers like 9/11.
To the extent that this project devalues MP neighborhood properties this may be considerers a ‘taking’ for which the city or who we may be in the hook.
