Dear Mayor Combs and City Council members,
In the interest of transparency, now that the city has received seven responses to the city’s RFQs, please post the basic information on the city’s website, including the names of each respondent’s company, the number of housing units proposed, the number of stories for each proposed apartment complex, and the placement and capacity of any parking structure proposed.
Surely the residents and business owners have the right to be apprised of this basic information. I can see no legitimate reason for the city to withhold it.
Instead of keeping the residents in the dark for weeks, and then suddenly springing the staff’s recommendation for a particular project on us sometime in May when it’s likely to be voted on, I respectfully request that you make the details pertaining to the seven developers’ responses public now, by putting them on the city’s website, presumably under the heading Development on Downtown Parking Lots: “Related Documents”.
Alternatively, if there are only one or two the city is seriously considering, then please list those specific ones with the relevant information mentioned above.
Thanks so much,
Cherie Zaslawsky
