Dear Mayor and City Council, I am a part of the Hillview Middle School environmental club. I believe that the city should plant more trees. Trees are good for a plethora of things. Some of those things are air quality, habitats for animals an they look very nice. Right now the air quality is very bad because of the fires, so planting trees would help the air quality and it would replenish the trees we lost. Trees also help suck in the carbon dioxide from the car exhaust. Menlo Park has some busy streets and the trees would help filter the air from those trees since those streets are in tightly packed areas. Menlo park also could use the trees to help the animals. If we had more trees it could also deter the animals from using buildings and signs as their homes and instead use the trees. Trees also look very pleasing since green is one of the easiest colors for the eye to look at. Trees make places feel welcoming and Menlo Park doesn't have so many trees downtown.
