I would like to contribute my thoughts on the proposed affordable housing project for our community. As a current and long time business owner in Menlo Park, I have always valued the strong sense of community we share, where connections and support flourish among our residents.
Throughout the years, my business has catered to three generations of customers, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere that I take great pride in. Yet, parking has been a challenge weve encountered, and it has been a recurring topic in community discussions for the past 26 years.
I recognize and appreciate the potential benefits that this affordable housing project could bring, particularly for those in need. At the same time, I believe its important to consider how this development might impact local businesses, including mine. The idea of eventually having a home in our cherished town is appealing; however, I am concerned about the changes that could affect the fabric of our community and the livelihoods of established businesses.
I would like to encourage constructive discussions about how we can strike a balance between welcoming new residents and preserving the character and economic sustainability of Menlo Park. By collaborating, we can explore solutions that create a positive outcome for both newcomers and the long-standing businesses that have been integral to our community for years.
