Willows street closings

Dear Council Members, I can't attend this evening's meeting, but I'd like to say that I believe that the street closings as currently posted are overkill. In my observation, through traffic is not an issue during the morning commute, but things are pretty busy from late afternoon until around 7 PM. Closing off the streets during those hours may make sense, though of course it will make the commute along Willow to the freeway even more nightmarish than it already is. But closing off the neighborhood streets all day, every day, is likely to hurt local businesses-- these businesses need the visibility and accessibility open streets provide. One of the joys of living in the Willows is being able to walk around the corner to La Hacienda or Cafe Zoe or Mardini's, etc., and closing these streets permanently could put some or all of the businesses-- and hence the vitality of the neighborhood-- at risk for no good reason.
