Dear Council and Staff,
Thank you for the thoughtful discussion last night on the future Slow Streets CIP Program and the need for both long-term planning and near-term safety action. In light of the concern raised about ensuring a data-driven and equitable approach, I’m submitting the attached In-Street Signage Pilot proposal. It includes neighborhood-specific data on speed, volume, crash history, and vulnerable populations, as well as design guidance aligned with NACTO and MUTCD standards. Our goal is to support the City in piloting low-cost, technically sound interventions now, while the broader CIP process unfolds over the coming years.
