Improving Downtown Vibrancy is one of Menlo Park City Councils Top 5 Strategic Priorities for fiscal year 2025-2026.

All neighboring cities either have or are creating inviting downtown public spaces. Unfortunately, Menlo Park has steadfastly ignored this significant opportunity and treated the existing space on the 600 block as a neglected orphan. Its time for the City Council to show it truly cares about our downtown. The City should transform the existing public space on the 600 Block of Santa Cruz Avenue into an attractive multi-purpose, public plaza where people can relax, gather and attend regular community events.
