I am all for good change and preserving Menlo Park. I am against this plan.
East Palo Alto is building affordable housing and its price ranges are outlined and it makes some sense. We talk about the environment and traffic etc... but no action. Why add on more. Mom and pop places and family restaurants etc ..have been pushed out all for the mighty dollar. Lets be real, its Now all about Business, Money and Gentrification. I have witnessed and heard about what takes place. (Something really nice and beautiful should go in that space for All to Enjoy even tourists). Facebook and Redwood City now have enough what you guys say affordable housing for everyone. There are other places for housing potential outside of Menlo Park. Is there an outsider pushing this? We need to work on keeping and Bringing Beauty back to our Menlo Park neighborhood instead of letting people show up and turn every space into some type of a work horse, sweat shop, concentration camp and just a breathe and eat place. There are Code issues, Slumlords. What is Menlo Park Preserving, Fighting for and handing down to the community and their families? People are talking and I am not the only one who is witnessing whats going on.*** Also! Protect & Preserve the Sunset Historical Property and what we have. The new owners plans are a disaster. Our area does not need another highrise, hotel or school etc... As the saying goes: "Some Ideas Need To Remain An Idea".
