Dear Menlo Park City Council,
My wife and I live in the heart of downtown (steps away from Trader Joes). I am strongly in support of the planned housing development (I believe this is Agenda Item K-1 for todays meeting).
In addition to badly needed housing stock (I am an employer whose employees cant afford to live near where the work), I am also looking forward to the increased foot traffic at local businesses. Perhaps some of these barely trafficked or empty downtown shops can be replaced with vibrant local businesses.
With regard to the perpetual groaning about parking (which, frankly, I sometimes find a bit disingenuous because parking is more than ample in Menlo relative to other cities), Im sure additional parking can be added when the appropriate planning stages are reached.
