Tag - Youre It Menlo Park!

Honorable City Council,

It is happening! From Sunnyvales border with Mountain View through Palo Altos border with Menlo Park, the El Camino bike lanes are almost complete. Parking has been removed and the paint is down. For the majority of the route, the bike lane is protected with a curb and bollards, or simply bollards. Intersections are being made safer as well. Traffic lane widths have been significantly narrowed; which means less speeding, fewer accidents, and safer streets for ALL users.

Here is a photo of the intersection of El Camino and San Francisco Creek bridge (i.e., the border with you fine people). This is an opportunity. Rather than an abrupt curbside end to running errands by bicycle, imagine the protected lane continues through to Middle Avenue (or dare I dream) to Santa Cruz Avenue in Menlo Park.

Please let me know if you ever want a tour of the new bike lanes. I would be thrilled to take you for a coffee ride!
