Please answer this question:

There are about 140 overwhelmingly Negative comments submitted to the city councils proposal to build housing on downtown parking lots.
So the Question is:
What justifies the Councils (and the developers) decision to move forward with housing on the parking lots, in view of:
1) a lawsuit pending
2) a ballot measure stopping it
3) Initiatives looming
4) Public Outrage!!! ( over 3,500 sign petitioners )
5) The Mathematical impossibility to supply enough parking
6) loss of sales tax revenue when stores close during and after construction
7) Likely that Council member(s) will be subject to being recalled and removed from the council
8) Reliance on "demand for housing" data that may be inadequate
9) Destruction of the Downtown shopping community, in spite of the fact that "Re-Vitalizing Downtown was one of the Councils Main Priorities"!!!!

Please answer this question at the publics June 3 council meeting.
Thank you
