Council Members:
I live in Los Altos, but Im in downtown Menlo Park about twice a week. Lots of great shops and restaurants -- all requiring public parking. While it can be challenging to find a space at lunch time, I can usually find a place. Without available parking, Id go elsewhere.
Also, please open Santa Cruz Avenue. Its a public street. Only a few restaurants benefit from street dining. Those few restaurateurs have a sense of entitlement, but theyve taken over the street at the expense of other shops and downtown visitors.
I know the state is pressuring every city to build housing, but you will destroy your vibrant downtown if you put housing on your parking lots.
Respectfully,
Pat Marriott
