Dear City Council,
I would like to write in support of the affordable housing on the downtown parking lots. This project is sensible, needed, and a lot of research has been done to find the perfect spot.
As someone who has been waiting to get into affordable housing, while living at home in my 30s, this project means so much. My husband works as a clerk for the Superior Court in Redwood City, and I am in graduate school getting a masters degree to become a therapist. Even once Im working and earning money again, we will not be able to afford market rates.
Our city needs a courthouse and therapists, which means it needs affordable housing. Downtown housing would keep our daughter in the same school district, allow us to have only one car, and generally improve our lives tremendously.
Thank you for your support of this project in the face of this smear campaign.
