Attached is a picture of a semi backed up to the market delivery dock. The white chalk marks indicate the edge of the 40 Middlefield lot line (measured 18' from the curb that lines the residence side of the service road at that point). When Nick Sharma and a group of us met with the Planning Department we emphasized the need for this area to be kept a 'soft corner' without a hard fence restricting the area. This picture was taken to make it clear why we are concerned with the length of the hard wall between the market and the proposed office building. Also, if the area to the left of the chalk line is restricted, trucks will completely block the through traffic on the service road that is one way through the 90 Middlefield parking lot, is the only way to access the parking for my residence parking located off the service road, and will not allow the trucks to line up correctly to the dock.
