Dear Menlo Park City Council,
I just learned that the City plans to eliminate the Quiet Zone from its budget planning. This is shocking and completely unacceptable! Menlo Park residents and businesses have been advocating for a Quiet Zone for years, and the engineering designs are now nearly complete. The last step is funding. Thousands of people are asking for the train horns to stop — and you have the budget surplus and other funding options to move this forward. Do not drop the ball.
I live near the Encinal railroad crossing and the horns wake me up every night. This is a huge quality of life issue- please do not take it out of the city budget or planning!
Respectfully,
Sandra Horwitz
