Please keep the quiet zone in the City Budget

Dear Mayor and City Council Members,

I am writing as a concerned Menlo Park resident to express my strong support for keeping the Quiet Zone project in the City’s five-year budget plan.

The Quiet Zone is not just a neighborhood amenity—it is a critical quality-of-life improvement that will benefit residents, schools, and local businesses by reducing disruptive and unnecessary train noise. Countless members of our community have advocated for this project in good faith and have invested time and energy in seeing it come to fruition.

Removing the Quiet Zone from the budget at the last minute, without adequate public input or discussion, would be a serious setback to a long-standing community effort. I urge you to reconsider this move and demonstrate that the City listens to and values the voices of its residents.

Please do the right thing for our neighborhoods, our families, and our city’s future: keep the Quiet Zone in the budget and continue working toward its implementation.

Thank you for your time and your service to our community.

Sincerely,
Harley Brown
