In order to re-open the 600 block to traffic AND support events, please consider installing removable bollards. This way the road can be kept open, but easily closed for events.
Our businesses depend on people being able to easily come and go. The permanent blocking of Santa Cruz Ave. makes it more difficult for people to come and go. I therefore hope Council will choose Option 1 or Option 2 and also ask staff to explore the installation of removable bollards so that the east bound 600 block can be easily closed for things like a weekly evening event, special occasions, or maybe even every summer weekend.
I believe this approach would make everyone happy and be the best thing for the City.
