The closure of the 600 block of Santa Cruz Avenue has caused frustration for many who wish to drive through to El Camino instead of turning right on Curtis, left on Menlo Avenue, which is always busy, and continuing on to El Camino. The same frustration in wanting to go to the Bank of America…. Either follow the same pattern or go through parking lots. Look at towns as an example of what a vibrant downtown looks like while maintaining their main streets open to traffic… Los Altos, Palo Alto, Burlingame.
On the other hand I just heard of an idea that can be considered. Open Santa Cruz Avenue but have on hand removable bollards that can be used for special events. Something to think about.
