Dear City Council Members,
As a Menlo Park resident and voter, I am deeply concerned by the
last-minute proposal to remove the Quiet Zone project from the city’s
five-year budget plan.
This initiative has long been a priority for those of us who live near the
Caltrain corridor. The ongoing disruption from train horn noise—especially
during nighttime hours—has real and lasting effects on the well-being of
residents across our community. Eliminating this project would be a step
backward in addressing a long-standing quality-of-life issue that your
constituents have raised time and again.
I urge you to restore the Quiet Zone to the budget and continue moving
forward with this vital effort. As someone who participates in our local
elections, I hope and expect the Council to remain responsive to community
voices.
