Hi,
I live in Menlo Park and am writing to ask you to please re-open Santa Cruz Avenue. It was useful to have expanded outdoor dining during COVID, both for the safety of residence and the solvency of restaurants. During that time, people were not commuting, going to school in-person or driving as much, so the traffic impact was minimal.
But now that COVID has ended and indoor dining is the norm for nearly all people, we no longer need these outdoor plazas. And we are now back to working and schooling in-person, the negative impacts on traffic are abundantly clear. Witness the snarls that develop on adjacent streets as a result of the blockage on Santa Cruz. Its ugly!
Please, please restore our streets so that we can all safely travel to and through this area. It is safer for travelers of all varieties if we do not have awful backups that create frustration and haste, and last for blocks and blocks.
