Sunday June 8, I spent the afternoon volunteering at the Save Downtown Parking booth, collecting many more enthusiastic signatures.
Each council member should sit quietly at our booth and JUST LISTEN.
Here is what you would have heard today:
"The whole idea is a Disaster!", "I dont live in Menlo Park, but I will spread the word". "Why would the city want to shut down the parking for 2 years building apartments, its like having COVID shutdown all over again".
Most important: One of the restaurant owners introduced himself and said, "If they disrupt our parking during construction . . . We cant survive!"
Please find a better location for state mandated housing. You have enough time to redirect your attention to less controversial sites.
Your duty is to the people of Menlo Park, NOT Sacramento.
