Dear Council members, I am thinking about the comment from a Menlo Park voter about what the apartments will actually be like:
1) looking out my new apartment window to the west I see a 5 to 8 story parking ramp.
2) looking South, North and East I see black top roofs with Air Conditioners,
3) I walk out the main floor door and see Garbage Dumpsters, and trash that did not fit in the dumpsters.
4) I go to the Parking garage and take the elevator to the 5th floor to get my car. I wish they had ASSIGNED parking . . . sharing with the merchants and their customers fills up all the lower levels. ( ALSO: I dont feel safe going in the garage elevator, especially at night)
6) the developer decided to set aside apartments for homeless people. . . . Time will tell if thats going to be workable.
The REALITY of what the future will be like is usually very different than the attractive drawings that developers come up with.
Please ABANDON this very FLAWED plan.
The civic center is MUCH BETTER.
