Council Members:
Todays Daily Post article about Santa Cruz Avenue quotes a gentleman urging you to keep the street closed because, "... it has become a gathering spot on weekday afternoons and weekends for teenagers and younger to gather."
I understand that kids like to hang out downtown. They patronize businesses and add a youthful vibrancy. But thats not a good reason to keep the street closed. People can still hang out at outdoor restaurants and coffee shops, or at the park on the corner of University Drive.
Public streets were meant for transit, not hanging out. Santa Cruz Ave. is a major thoroughfare. Please open it all the way.
