Dear Members of my City Council,
I write to you having just learned that the City is planning to eliminate the Quiet Zone effort from its budget plan.
This work has been supported by residents for many years, with the City having made investments in it. It’s my understanding that engineering designs are nearly complete.
As someone who has made countless funding decisions over 42 years in local and federal government, I fully appreciate the competition of dollars. I’ve also dealt with many staff recommendations. Some I supported, and others I haven’t.
Not knowing the reason(s) for the elimination of the Quiet Zone, I urge you to continue moving forward with the effort.
Why?
Residents support it.
It is a sensible effort.
It has had the support of past and present City Council members.
Thank you for giving my message your attention, and thank you for your service to our wonderful community. This effort is to better our City … residents together with our elected representatives exercising democracy.
Most gratefully,
Congresswoman Anna Eshoo (Ret.)🇺🇸
