Dear Menlo Park City Council,
I
just learned that the City plans to eliminate the Quiet Zone from its budget planning. This is outrageous and unacceptable! Residents have been advocating for a Quiet Zone for years, and the engineering designs are nearly complete. The last step is funding.
Do not drop the ball. Thousands of people want the train horns to stop.
As a blind person, train noise obscures my ability to hear hazards near to me as I walk around the neighborhood. I have described two of these incidents during city council meetings over the last couple of years and I hope they resonate with you.
Sincerely,
Ezio alviti
