Hello members of the Menlo Park City Council,
We here at The Stanford Park Hotel have been happily anticipating the implementation of the Quiet Zone. We understand that the planning phase is finished and engineering designs are nearly complete for implementation to begin about one year from now. Now we hear that Menlo Park plans to eliminate the Quiet Zone from its budget planning altogether. After all the cost and time spent by the city and designers, and the feedback from residents and businesses advocating for a Quiet Zone, now it will be completely discarded? The amount of taxes produced by Menlo Park and Palo Alto hotels will only grow when we can have a quieter environment for our guests to enjoy. Please develop a plan to quickly move forward with the Quiet Zone project, either from the existing budget surplus, or other funding options.
Respectfully,
Chaya Donne
