Hi City Council Members,I’m writing to ask for your support in moving forward with a quiet zone here in Menlo Park. I live right next to the train tracks, and the noise from the train horns—especially early in the morning and late at night—has a real impact on daily life.It’s not just about peace and quiet for adults—this would make a big difference for kids and pets in the neighborhood too. The sudden, loud horns can be really startling and stressful, especially for little ones trying to sleep or animals who don’t understand what’s happening. A quiet zone would make our community feel calmer and more livable for everyone.Of course, safety is important, and I know there are ways to make crossings secure without all the noise. I hope you’ll consider the quiet zone as a meaningful step toward improving quality of life in our city.Thanks for your time and for all the work you do for Menlo Park.
