I have just learned that the quiet zone initiative may be taken off the five-year Capital Improvement Plan at tonight‘s city Council meeting. And as a resident of Linfield Oaks I urge the Council to reconsider that decision. The quiet zone has been in the works for a long time and benefits, not only those who live in neighborhoods on either side of the tracks, but also the future citizens of the SRI Housing locations.
We have been advocating for a Quiet Zone for years, and the engineering designs are nearly complete. Eliminating the QZ from all future plans would mean restarting and spending the money for the plans again.
