Dear Menlo Park City Council,
I'm emailing you today to request that you allocate the city budget for additional sustainability staff. We need more staff to implement our climate action plan. Menlo Park citizens are constantly seeing the effects of climate change in the form of drought, wildfires, increasing temperatures, and sea-level rise. We must take action in order to assert ourselves as an environmentally sustainable city, and in doing so we will inspire other cities to follow our lead. Yet we cannot take action with only one staffer covering all of sustainability and climate action. Please budget for additional sustainability staff and prioritize the health of your citizens and our planet.
