Lackluster response from Menlo PD. Illegal massive fireworks directly behind our home, wrappers in the alley and men on camera doing it (cameras belong to Schmidt family foundation building, security guard willing to share), Menlo PD dispatcher said she wouldn’t be sending anyone, even though there are three cameras and physical evidence. Menlo PD doesn’t care to do nighttime patrols even though this happens almost every single night in our area, huge fire hazard considering all the dry brush, so disappointed to know they’re too busy racially profiling black and latinx young men over by Facebook to deal with actual crimes. As I’m sitting here writing this I hear more fireworks further down the way. These were very large, 100ft up into the air landing on our roof and tree. Always arrive fifteen minutes too late to actually do anything, hope if I’m burning alive asleep in my home one of these nights due to sky high fireworks the fire dept gets here faster than PD.
