Thank you for hosting a study session last week focused on the MPPD. As a former member of the Police Chief’s Advisory Board, I have had the privilege of meeting many of the members of the police department under two former chiefs and I am pleased to see our new chief continuing the conversation with our citizens.
Given the interest among some Council members on racial aspects of policing, I want to let you know about the ACLU’s efforts in this area and a new course they just announced to help inform people about issues and approaches to policing and racism.
