Please see the attached statements from CARRD with reference to the Charleston Meadows grade separations in Palo Alto. There is a lot that might apply to Menlo Park. Palo Alto has agreed to consider the review of a short tunnel with UP freight remaining on top, one track. They will be hearing comments on this on Dec 17. I urge Menlo Park to consider the review of a short tunnel as well. I understand that MP has unique concerns. El Palo Alto and the location of the MP Train station may add complications. However the relative costs might be offset by quality of life, value to the community, other offsets to construction expenses, safety of our children crossing to and from Menlo Atherton. Hinda G.
