I have been informed that a message in support of downtown parking lot
housing was sent to the Council by Menlo Together and/or Action Network
under my name. I have never signed the Menlo Together Petition nor have I
sent a message to the City in support of housing on the downtown parking
lots.
Please disregard any such communication reportedly by me regarding such
support. I have contacted Menlo Together founder Adina Levin asking her to
remove my name from the organizations petition.
Several years ago I asked to be on the Menlo Togethers email list for
the purpose of understanding their mission. However, I believe that the
downtown parking lots should remain as they are . . . for patrons of the
retail shops. A healthy and vibrant town needs a downtown with businesses
that thrive. Most shoppers need cars to shop. Parking garages will not be
used by many and certainly not by women. Its a safety issue. Menlo Park is
not San Francisco with a public bus system.
