I am writing to encourage you to keep and improve the bike lanes and pedestrian crossings that are part of the trial on Middle Ave. Living on Claire place, we see a dramatic improvement in biking safety along middle and the cars are going slower due to the stop at San Mateo Ave.
We do get more eparking along Claire Place during the weekend - especially Sundays due to the church… but this is OK… this is totally and acceptable compromise to keep pedestrians and hikers safe - especially kids going to/from school.
The bike lanes do needs to be made much more visible (green stripes) and the pedestian crossings at Arbor are still not visible enough. Many cars do not stop as they do not see the pedestrian crossing in time and the signage is poor.
