Dear City Council,The Menlo Park Planning Department in conjunction with the Code Enforcement Officer have informed me that the 3'x4' tree house on my property for my kids needs to be taken down or I will be fined starting tomorrow. They believe the tree house is in violation of Menlo Parks Building Codes while I believe it is not in violation. I have read the Code thoroughly and would like an opportunity to speak with the City Council to get an independent 3rd party decision. Living in The United States of America I believe in due process and checks and balances. I do not believe the Planning Department should get to be the judge, jury and executioner in this manner.I would like an extension of my deadline to tear it down until I have had an opportunity to speak with the City Council.
