Dear City Council, I have lived in San Mateo County all my life and in Menlo Park for the past couple of years. I've seen the city change over the years, and I strongly believe that the changes in the past decade to Zone 1 in Menlo Park have had huge benefits to the local community and have breathed new life into a long-neglected corner of the city. Halting development doesn't solve any problems. These developments are helping the city, not hurting it, and issuing a moratorium slows down our ability to improve our community. I was looking forwards to the benefits of Willow Village being constructed near my home in Belle Haven and providing much-needed local services and a vibrant gathering area. Now I'm scared that the schedule might be delayed by years or the project might be abandoned altogether. Please don't let fear of change prevent the change that we need.
