Dear Menlo Park City Council, I write in support of the “Reach Codes” that I understand you will be voting on tonight. I am a Menlo Park resident, a former public health professor, a former college president, and deeply concerned about the climate emergency. I am strongly in favor of mandated electrification of new construction to reduce natural gas use, reduce carbon emissions, and planetary warming, and and also to produce new buildings that are healthier, safer, more efficient and affordable. I hope you will pass these measures and I think you for your leadership.
