The City council should consider the alternative sites outlined in the
study prepared by the save downtown group. The alternative sites
satisfied the need for the housing element and will not have any
negative effect on the downtown area.
This is a common sense solution for housing needs.
The vast majority of Menlo Park residents and businesses dont want
housing developed on the downtown parking lots. When the initiative is
placed on the ballot for a vote the City Council is going to lose.
It makes sense for the City council to start considering the alternative
sites now so as not to waste any more time on the downtown plan.
