Re: Cease fire now in Gaza is a Palo Alto issue

Yes, Carol of course, your idea to organize public Council presence excellent, happy to follow your lead: suggest Monday after Labor Day , asking immediate passage of resolution honoring Herbert Hoover, hero of Palo Alto and his principle of food distribution to the hungry, irrespective of politics and geography, current applicable to Gaza inhabitants, cease fire now to facilitate cf UN Report, U.S. SNAP recipients facing budget cuts

Henry,

Well done! Your phrase “principled indifference” perfectly captures the state of mind of this council made up of Zionist zealots and Zionist sympathizers.

Creating divides within and between local communities. The tacit agreement among Council to present a united front of “principled indifference” on the grounds that it is beyond their “pay grade” must be turned on its head.   Hunger is a universal issue wherever it takes place. Let’s honor the greatest Palo Altan, President Herbert Hoover by carrying out his  principle of feeding everyone irrespective of political differences.  Council and the University should take a stand together with Palo Alto’s citizenry and support the flooding of Gaza with food, called for by the coalition of international aid agencies.  Herbert Hoover did in his day what we must do in ours.
