I am writing to support the construction of new affordable housing in downtown Menlo Park. I live in downtown Menlo Park and would love to see a more vibrant downtown - more foot traffic, fewer closed stores. The status quo is not the answer. Further, we are all aware of the housing un-affordability in the area. More housing will help alleviate this. Socioeconomic diversity is also a benefit to society. Please do not make the RFP unnecessarily burdensome so as to discourage proposals. The proposed additions are concerning for this reason. Before issuing the RFP, please ensure that it is something developers can propose on.
