Hello City Council Members,
I wanted to write in to strongly support the ongoing efforts to build affordable housing in downtown Menlo Park. Please do not let a group of loud and out-of-touch NIMBY undermine this plan and ruin this golden opportunity. There are so many of us in the community who want this to happen. My wife and I are educators who have lived in Menlo Park for 17 years, but the only reason we were able to afford this (especially in the early years) was because we had a kind landlord who always charged us below market rent. And we are relatively well off compared to many. Menlo Park needs affordable housing and as a committed non-driver it would be amazing if it were downtown and near public transit. Please do not let the NIMBYs win again. They’ve been ruining things in California for far too long!!!
