If I were able to come tonight, having read the staff recommendation for interim services, I would say that in the interest of the well being of seniors some consideration must be given to continuing the special event and recreation programs if even at a reduced level. These programs add a extra vitality to the seniors lives and I have never attended one that was not packed with gala dressed smiling elders enjoying the fellowship. These periodic events are generally held where the daily nutrition happens. Do they really need to be suspended? I know that you know that in these times of stress and sometimes confusion that a regularly scheduled dose of JOY might be just what the doctor would order to sustain our highly valued senior assets through the challenge of transition.
