Dear City Council, I want to register my support for the ordinance to safeguard guns, but to express the need for an amendment to the proposed ordinance so that it does not include a criminal penalty, which would penalize low-income, minority or otherwise marginalized members of our community. I ask for this modification in solidarity with Menlo Park's Moms Demand Action, although I cannot attend the meeting to join members in asking for this change in the ordinance.
