Because it may be relevant to tonight’s RFP discussion, Save Downtown Menlo would like you to know that we have collected over 3,000 signatures for our Citizens Initiative. Based on our validation checks, we are confident that more than 80% are from unique, registered voters — putting us comfortably above the threshold needed to qualify.
We plan to continue to collect signatures because most people we speak to are eager for the opportunity to sign.
If passed, the measure would enact the Downtown Parking Plazas Ordinance. This ordinance would require a public vote before the City can sell, lease, declare as surplus, or repurpose any of the eight downtown parking plazas. It would apply to actions taken on or after May 15, 2025.
