City Council -
I am a Menlo Park resident and am shocked that you continue to move forward
with the downtown development on the parking lots. Businesses will never
survive without easy access to parking, let alone during the construction
phase.
I don’t understand why, knowing this proposed development will move to a
resident vote, you continue to waste precious resources on the parking lot
development, instead of focusing on alternative sites. Civic Center, SRI,
Bohannon - it’s completely untrue that there aren’t alternatives. No site
is perfect, it’s true. But downtown is not the place.
You have a duty to the CURRENT residents of Menlo Park to listen. And take
feedback. Please don’t destroy a town, and a community of people who love
Menlo Park, for a community who doesn’t live here yet. We ALL want
affordable housing. This is the wrong place.
