I have been a resident of Menlo Park for 26 years - and moved to Sharon Heights in 2019. I am a mother of four children and work full-time at our home. I have been recently advised that Sharon Park and Burgess Park have been mentioned as possible building sites for the affordable housing initiative. As an avid runner, dog-walker, and tennis player, I utilize these parks on a daily basis with both my family and friends. These neighborhood parks provide a much needed change of scenery from the constant construction in our city and I am requesting that the City council preserve these open spaces. If the Sharon Heights neighborhood needs to be rezoned to allow low-income housing, then please consider the adjacent Sharon Heights Shopping Center.
