Thanks to the city staff and city council for all the hard work in getting
our 2023-2031 housing element approved by the state.
A question for city staff and city council is what is being done to require
that all new commercial development in the city includes the corresponding
housing that Regional Housing Needs Allocation (RHNA) requires. When
businesses and developers add office and manufacturing space, that
increases the RHNC housing requirements for the city. Since these
businesses and developers are driving our housing needs, they should be
responsible for enabling the city to meet them. For example, what is being
done to ensure that development plans by large employers like Meta and
Snowflake and the new developments at USGS and SRI are adding housing to
meet the RHNA requirements?
Cheers, Brian
