I am a proponent of affordable housing, but not at the expense of our rare parcels of open spaces or parkland. We are known as a “Tree City.” How contradictory would it be to sacrifice trees and parkland for more concrete! Let’s plan on putting more housing near convenient and affordable public transportation and not on land where children play and birds and animals nest.
