Members of the City Council, It has come to my attention that you are considering closing MP Gymnastics. I don't pretend to understand all the considerations that you must evaluate, or the difficult circumstances you find yourselves in. However, I can speak to the value that MP gymnastics has had for our family. My son (now 10) started at MP gymnastics as a small toddler, before the new building was built. My daughter, now 8, continues her gymnastics and just graduated to Level 3 before the facility was closed. She continues to practice at home via youtube videos. Both my kids have grown through your program. It has contributed to their confidence and strength. They have met and developed friendships with children outside of their immediate school circle. Moreover, there is no comparable program in the nearby vicinity. We have tried other gymnastics programs and they miss the community element and the camaraderie that exists at MP.
