Please don't cut the climate budget

I understand that tonight, City Council will review a proposal to cut the sustainability budget. Regardless if grants may come it, our city needs the $400K for other climate projects. Menlo Park is consistently a role model, out front, inspiring other cities to take bold new climate actions. From purchasing only 100% clean electricity, bold building codes for EV charging infrastructure, reach codes ending fossil fuels in new buildings, to being a leader in EV adoption and EV prevalence, Menlo Park has been an example for other cities to follow. Our city just set another first by committing to reduce city vehicle gasoline consumption by a certain percentage each year. Other cities will take note. We can’t stop now. Cities across the state and the country are counting on Menlo Park to continue to be a climate leader. This is bigger than us, and we need adequate funding to continue leading the charge. I’m also happy to help volunteer for these projects and will visit your web site to see where those may be needed.
